When I drink Mille e una Notte,
memories smile on me. It may be that I am only a
Tuscan butcher, devoted to wine, but I must tell
you that I am grateful to you, to "Gattopardo,"
to your wine and to Sicily for the atmosphere I
sense you have created. It takes me to Donnafugata,
opening for me the path of memory, a sensual Arab
dancer, and brings back the savor of my steaks cooking
over a huge, odorous fire of Sicilian olive wood.
The savor of that meat competes with the nectar
